Guntur doctor wins US laurels
Renowned orthopedician from Guntur Dr B Narendra Reddy was awarded the prestigious Miami State Medical Record Holders Association certificate and medal recently.
Guntur: Renowned orthopedician from Guntur Dr B Narendra Reddy was awarded the prestigious Miami State Medical Record Holders Association certificate and medal recently.
The popular knee and bone specialist was instrumental in conducting many knee joint replacements and voluntary services in the government-run health camps and at Guntur General Hospital (GGH).
Addressing a media conference here on Thursday, Dr Narendra Reddy said as a token of recognition of his services in the free surgeries for the needy and the poor, the Miami State Medical Record Holders Association presented a merit certificate and a medal.
He recollected the marathon 10 knee replacement surgeries on August 16, 2016 with his own equipment and Rs.10 lakh expenditure at the GGH.
He added that the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) asked its members to conduct free surgeries as many as possible and he did the highest ever in India and the IOA suggested his name for the certificate.
Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu congratulated Dr Narendra Reddy for his zeal and helping nature when he met him on Wednesday, along with P Pulla Rao, Minister for Civil Supplies, at the Secretariat. He reiterated his resolve to serve the poor and the sick in the future as well.
