YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy spit fire on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and described him as a “big broker” while addressing a huge gathering at Uruvakili centre in Pathikonda constituency.
Kurnool: YSR Congress Party President YS Jaganmohan Reddy spit fire on Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and described him as a “big broker” while addressing a huge gathering at Uruvakili centre in Pathikonda constituency.
Jagan, who started his PrajaSankalpa Yatra from Billekal village on 23rd day, continued through Juturu, ChinnaHulthi and concluded at Uruvakili centre in Pathikonda constituency on Friday.
The YSRCP chief said that Naidu is a “big broker,” who used to buy farmer’s produce at low-price and sell them at high price from his Heritage Foods. Pathikonda, where tomatoes are grown widely, is in dire need of a processing unit.“Though Naidu assured to set up processing unit, the government failed to take initiatives in this regard during its four-year tenure.
Due to lack of tomato processing unit and cold storages, the farmers are not getting remunerative prices at the agriculture market yard. But the same tomatoes are being sold for Rs50 per kg in Naidu’s Heritage Foods,” he alleged.
Jagan said Pathikonda constituency got 174th position out of 175 constituencies that are reeling under severe drought, according to a survey done by international agencies.
Recalling former chief minister YSR’s rule, Jagan said that his father had sanctioned Rs190 crore for the construction of Krishna Giri and Pandikona Reservoirs and most of the works were completed. If the ruling government focuses its attention on completion of remaining 10 per cent works then the entire constituency would get abundant water for irrigation besides drinking, stated Jagan.
On his way to Pathikonda from Billekal village, scores of people met Jagan and poured out their woes. The school students, who met Jagan said that they were facing dire consequences for not having bathrooms and toilets at their schools. They said even the hostels they were staying in also lack minimum amenities.
Jaganmohan Reddy said that Naidu is planning to close all the government schools and divert the students to Narayana Educational Institutions as Narayana is the binami of Naidu. Around 6 SC hostels and 2 BC hostels have been closed during Naidu’s four-year rule, Jagan lamented.
Responding on Polavaram issue, Jagan said the estimate cost of Polavaram was drastically increased to Rs58,000 crore from Rs16,000 crore. Raising doubts on the abnormal increase in the cost, the Principal Secretary of Polavaram, Amar Jit Singh drafted a letter to Naidu on 27th of last month.
In which Amar Jit Singh has clearly mentioned that the time bound for inviting tenders was very short with which several contractors could not file bids. For filing bids, the government must give at least 45-day time, but Naidu’s government has shortened it to three weeks.
Pointing out the less period given by Naidu, the Principal Secretary has drafted letter to Naidu to stop the Polavaram works.Taking this as an advantage, Naidu has lied the people that the Central government has forced him to stop from carrying out the works without revealing the actual contents furnished by the Principal Secretary.
Jagan said the time has come to unite people to form a good government that has moral ethics. He also announced Cherukalapadu Sri Devi Reddy to be his party’s candidate from Pathikonda in the ensuing general elections and urged them to support her candidature.
