Lokesh Overhauls Panchayat Raj System At Grassroot Level
Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj minister N Lokesh has taken a major initiative of strengthening the panchayat and mandal parishad wings at the groosroot level.
Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj minister N Lokesh has taken a major initiative of strengthening the panchayat and mandal parishad wings at the groosroot level.
The minister instructed to appoint Panchayat Secretaries in every village to monitor developmental programmes like drinking water supply, drainage, tax collections and street light maintenance. The government decided to appoint Secretaries in all 12,918 villages. The Secretaries will also be given freedom to perform their duties.
Lokesh also decided to appoint more number of staff in every MPDO office in view if increased work burden. The offices were running with skeleton staff. As a result, many issues including public grievances were remain pending in the offices for long time.
The officials working in the Assembly Constituency and Municipal areas in Panchayat Raj department will be promoted and called as Joint Director and Deputy Directors.
