Protect temple lands, says Siva Swamy
Saiva Kshetram seer Siva Swamy, felt that it is most unfortunate that the government is thinking to regularise the lands of the temples and ‘eenam’.
Vijayawada: Saiva Kshetram seer Siva Swamy, felt that it is most unfortunate that the government is thinking to regularise the lands of the temples and ‘eenam’.
Speaking at Viswa Hindu Parishad dharna programme here on Friday, he stressed on the need to protect temple properties. The VHP leaders staged a dharna opposing the move of the government to regularise the ‘eenam’ and temple lands.
Hindu Dharnamika Mandali state convener Velagapudi Ramakrishna explained the need to protect temple and ‘eenam’ lands. He demanded that the government keep details of the temple lands on the notice board immediately.
VHP central secretary Challa Lakshminarayana, urged the government to lease out the temple lands to Hindus and keep the details in the notice boards in the temples.
VHP state vice-president PVS Naidu said though courts were giving favour judgments to handover the temple lands, the officials had been committing irregularities and delaying the process. He stressed on need to protect the temple lands given by the donors.
VHP Vijayawada city president Sana Srinivas, VHP leader Rallapalli Papayya Sarma were among those participated.
