Minister for Forests Sidda Raghava Rao, flagged off of an AIDS awareness rally conducted by the students of various educational institutions at a programme held at Collectorate here on Friday to mark the World AIDS Day.

Ongole: Minister for Forests Sidda Raghava Rao, flagged off of an AIDS awareness rally conducted by the students of various educational institutions at a programme held at Collectorate here on Friday to mark the World AIDS Day.

Speaking on this occasion, he said, “If we take precautionary measures, we can check the spread of AIDS.” He emphasised on creating awareness on AIDS. He explained steps taken by the government to check spread of AIDS. Giving free medicines to the patients suffering from HIV Positive and giving pensions to extend helping hand were among measures taken by the government.

He further said that the government was conducting free diagnosis tests in the 82 government hospitals in the state and implementing the reforms in the health sector. He further said that the government was extending super specialty services in the government hospitals and urged the poor patients to avail medical services in the government hospitals.
