Total hip replacement surgery conducted at Ruia
The Orthopedics Unit – 1 of SVRRGG Hospital (Ruia Hospital) have performed ‘Total Hip Replacement’ (THR) surgery to a patient from Alladupallevillage from Kadapa district C Veera Reddy. He was admitted in the hospital on November 2 with severe Osteoarthritis (OA) of both hip joints.

The Professor and Head of Orthopedics Dr S Sreenivasa Reddy, along with his team of doctors including Dr Ravisankar, Dr R Venkat and Dr DL Venkatesh, have performed the surgery on November 8. Dr J Radha and Dr T Jamuna of Anesthesia department also took part.
The patient received Rs.1 lakh from CM’s Relief Fund towards the cost of implants. He was discharged with good condition on November 27. The Superintendent of Ruia Hospital Dr B Sidda Naik congratulated the doctors. The doctors felt that if the Government extends the State Illness Fund to the patients in Ruia Hospital many poor people will be benefitted who cannot bear the cost of implants.
