Adoni CI, two constables placed under suspension
Following the directions from Rayalaseema Range IG Iqbal, Kurnool Superintendent of Police Gopinath Jetty on Saturday placed Circle Inspector Siva Sankar and two other constables under suspension for demanding and accepting bribe from a wine shop owner.

When CI Siva Sankar threatened the wine shop owner, he recorded the threatening phone call, directing him to pay bribe to police constables and shared it to all on the WhatsApp.
Former MLA Meenakshi Naidu took the matter to the notice of DSP but in vain. Vexed with the attitude of DSP, the TDP leaders took the matter to the notice of IT Minister Nara Lokesh. Following the intervention of Nara Lokesh, Kurnool SP placed the CI under suspension. The CI was also accused of beating a rowdy-sheeter tying him down to a tree. Constables Prasad Singh and Haji Basha are accused of collecting bribe from Matka organisers as well as wine shop dealers and hence the SP placed them under suspension.
