To commemorate the Navy Day on December 4 every year, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) showcases the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities and activities

Visakhapatnam: To commemorate the Navy Day on December 4 every year, the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) showcases the Indian Navy’s operational capabilities and activities that the Navy undertakes on the high seas with an operational demonstration at the RK Beach on Monday. The Navy Day operation demonstration gives an opportunity for the public to have a closer glimpse at the multi-furious activities of the Navy and the challenges that naval personnel experience at sea. Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao would be the chief guest at the operational display.

The Navy Day activities will begin with paying homage to the service personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1971 war. A wreath will be laid at the war memorial at the RK Beach, followed by the operational display in the evening which will demonstrate the capabilities and versatility of the Navy’s ships, aircraft and special forces.

These elements of the navy will act in unison, to show how the navy defends country’s maritime borders, deters the adversaries and even can influence operations on the land. The ceremony will also exhibit the navy’s elite band which has performed across the country. The event will be attended by the military and civil dignitaries of Visakhapatnam.

Flight Safety Advisory
During the final rehearsal, which is scheduled for December 3 and on 4, many aircrafts will be flying over the RK Beach. To ensure the safe operation of these aircrafts, Indian Navy appealed the public visiting the beach and the residents in the neighbourhood to keep the area free from litter and to avoid bringing food items to the beach. Such activities will attract birds and can pose a major hazard to aircrafts. It can lead a major air mishap also.
