Chirala: MLA Amanchi Krishnamohan inaugurated the newly constructed Mukhamandapam at the Kshipraprasanna Sridattasiddha Kshetram near Kothapalem between Chirala and Vetapalem, on Sunday.

The Kshipraprasanna Sridattasiddhi Kshetram started its construction in 1998 with the donation of 2 acre land by the couple Kolluri Gopalarao and Prameela. The disciples of Marella Ramakrishna Guruji added another eight acre land to it and the construction is being done in a phased manner. As of now, the chambers of Anagha Devi, Mahalakshmi, Annapurna, Panchadatta, Sodhasadatta, Yajnasala, Gosala, Nava Pyramid Dhyanakendra and others were constructed. The Gayatri mantra recital, Dattahomam and Annadanam are taken up on daily basis.

With the funds of Rs 50 lakh from the donors and devotees, the temple convener Karanam Prameela Devi, president Pati Venkata Subbarao, secretary Nunna Sivaprasad and other committee members completed construction of Mukhamandapam for a seating capacity of more than 1,000 devotees and provided Makaratoranam and other decorative fittings with Rs 4 lakh.

On Sunday, as part of the Datta Navaratri celebrations in the temple, Amanchi Krishnamohan inaugurated the Mukhamandapam and presented the Makaratoranam, Chatram and others to the presiding deity in the presence of thousands of devotees from Chirala, Vetapalem and the surrounding areas.
