Kurnool: Immaturity and misunderstandings between wife and husband are resulting in frequent quarrels and attacks between them. Such an incident, a man killed his wife and later committed suicide. The incident that took place at Yemmiganoor on Friday night. It was briefed by the CI G Prasad to this correspondent when contacted over phone. He said Katika Basha and Afreen aged around 27 and 24 years respectively were residents of Yemmiganoor town and were eking livelihood as daily wage earners. For the last three months, there were some misunderstandingsbetween the couple and they were quarrelling frequently, he said.
As usual, Katika Basha picked up an argument with Afreen on Friday night and in a fit of rage he attacked her with an axe.
On learning about the incident, Afreen’s relatives and neighbourscame to her rescue and rushed her to Kurnool General Hospital. While undergoing treatment, Afreensuccumbed to injuries on Saturday afternoon.
Katika Basha after knowing about her death and fearing further consequences, committed suicide by hanging on the outskirts of the village. We have received a complaint from the deceased family members and accordingly filed a case.
The body of Katika Basha was also sent for autopsy and handed over to his relatives. The couple were survived by three-year old daughter, sated the Circle Inspector, G Prasad.
