The bike rally was started from Vinayaknagar Ground, proceeded through Ruia Hospital, NTR Circle, Gandhi Road, Tilak Road, Municipal Corporation Office Junction and culminated at TTD Administrative Building.

Tirupati: TTD CPS employees organised a bike rally in Tirupati on Sunday protesting against the Compensatory Pension Scheme (CPS). The bike rally was started from Vinayaknagar Ground, proceeded through Ruia Hospital, NTR Circle, Gandhi Road, Tilak Road, Municipal Corporation Office Junction and culminated at TTD Administrative Building.

The employees raised slogans demanding the cancellation of CPS and to reintroduce old pension scheme (OPS). Later, they organised a meeting at Administrative Building. The President and Secretary of CPS Employees Association M Harinath and LNV Ravi Kumar (respectively) spoke on the occasion.

They said, `after serving the organisation for about 30 years, it will be difficult to survive without pension after retirement. In recent times, 35 CPS employees have dead and their family members were left with nothing.

How can they survive with Rs 800 to Rs.1,200 pension they are getting, the leaders asked. TTD Staff and Workers Federation President and Secretary M Nagarjuna and G Venkatesam (respectively) have alleged that with the instructions of World Bank, the Central and State governments are making the lives of two lakh employees in the State miserable.

Chittoor District CPS leaders Dayanand, Madhu Babu and Sudhakar have said that the agitation will be intensified in the coming days. Padmalatha, Renu Dikshit, Munivenkata Reddy, K Ramesh, Reddappa, Dayakar, Adilakshmi, Sakuntala, Sunil Kumar, and Venugopal participated.
