Eluru: West Godavari weightlifters showed their supremacy for the second consecutive day on Saturday in the Andhra Pradesh State Weight Lifting Championship being held here at the Indoor Stadium. The West Godavari district weightlifters bagged nine gold medals in Junior, Sub-Junior and Senior girls categories to put the district in the first place in the medals tally.
On the second day, Seniors, Juniors and Sub-Juniors category competitions were held at the Indoor Stadium. In senior girls category- 48 kgs, KHNVS Manikanteswari bagged gold medal by lifting 62 kgs in snatch, 69 in clean and jerk, totalling 131.0 kgs. Vizainagaram lifter L Anuradha bagged silver medal by lifting 50 kgs in snatch , 72 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 122 kgs. B Jyothi of Kadapa stood in third place in 50 kgs snatch, 63 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 113 Kgs.
In 53 kgs senior girls category, B Usha of Vizainagaram lifted 80 kgs (snatch), 100 kgs ( clean and jerk), totalling 180 kgs to bag gold medal. B Deepa Nayomi of West Godavari stood in second place to get silver with 55 Kgs snatch, 64 kgs clean and jerk, totalling 119 kgs lifting. In 59 kgs category of senior girls, V Dhana Lakshmi of Visakhapatnam bagged gold medal by lifting 60 kgs in snatch, 81 in clean and jerk totalling 141 kgs. P Padmavati of East Godavari district bagged silver medal by lifting 65 in snatch, 75 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 140 kgs. R Bharati of Kadapa stood in third place by lifting 50 kgs (snatch), 70 (clean and Jerk), totalling 120k.
In sub-junior boys 50 kgs category, E Koteswara Rao of West Godavari bagged gold medal with 76 kgs in snatch, 95 Kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 171 kgs. V Suresh of Vizainagaram stood in second place with a total of 154 kgs lift. P Nookunaidu of Visakhaptanam stood in third place with a total lift of 150 kgs.
In 56 kgs category, M Uma Shankar of Prakasham bagged gold medal by lifting 83 kgs in snatch, 100 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 183 kgs. T Kumara Swamy of Vizainagaram stood in second place by lifting 73 kgs in snatch, 105 Kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 178 kgs. M Swaroopa Kumar Reddy of Kadapa stood in third place by lifting 80 kgs in snatch 95 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 175 kgs.
62 Kgs category, G Ravi Shankar of Kadapa bagged gold medal by lifting 80 kgs in snatch 100 in clean and jerk totalling 180 kgs. V narasimha Naidu of Vizaingaram stood in second place by lifting 70 kgs in snatch, 95 kgs in clean and jerk totalling 165 kgs. K Naveen Kumar of Prakasham stood in third place by lifting 65 in snatch, 77 in cleaen and jerk totalling 142 kgs.
In seniors men 56 kgs category, V Chinnam Naidu of Vizainagaram bagged gold medal with a lift of 100 kgs in snatch , 120 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 220. K Srinu of Vizaiangaram stood in second place with a lift of 85 kgs in snatch, 115 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 200.
In 62 Kgs category K Gouri Babu of Vizainagaram bagged gold medal by lifting 111 kgs in snatch, 132 Kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 249 kgs. T Sudheer of Vizaingaram won second place by lifting 110 in snatch, 137 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 247 kgs.
M Satyanarayana Murthy of East Godavari district stood in third place by lifting 95 kgs in snatch, 120 in clean and jerk, totalling 215 kgs.In 94 kgs category, Botsa Srinu of West Godavari, won gold medal by lifting 123 kgs in snatch, 160 kgs in clean and jerk, totalling 283 kgs.
