Vijayawada: YSRCP official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu lashed out at Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu alleging that the Chief Minister has once again cheated Kapu, Balija and Ontari castes by allocating five percent reservations without any scientific basis.

He felt the reservations allotted by the AP government can’t get legal sanctity due to many defects. He took strong objection to the passing of bill by the government allocating five per cent reservation to Kapus, Balijas, Ontari and other castes and felt it was eyewash only.

Addressing media conference at the party head office here on Saturday, the senior YSRCP leader pointed out that the BC Commission Chairman Justice Manjunath had announced that he had not submitted the report.Rambabu had questioned how the State government would pass the reservations bill without the BC Commission chairman submitting his report.

The YSRCP leader said the total percentage of reservations in the State would exceed 50 per cent with the passing of bill in Assembly allocating reservations to Kapus. He alleged that the TDP government had ignored the Kapu reservations promise for nearly 20 months after it came to power and appointed Manjunatha Commission following the agitation launched by Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham.

He alleged that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had brought the Kapu reservations issue to the fore to divert the attention of the people in view of the corruption exposed by Central government in construction of the Polavaram Project.

He said the TDP government resorted to many irregularities in the Polavaram Project and it was pointed out by the NDA government. He wondered why the Chandrababu Naidu government was not releasing the details of the Manjunatha Commission report.
