Visakhapatnam: GVMC Commissioner M Harinarayanan inaugurated the Short Film Theatre as part of the fest at Andhra University Engineering College grounds here on Sunday. After visiting the book stalls, science exhibition, public sector pavilion, the GVMC Commissioner expressed his happiness over the conduct of Vizag Fest 2017.

He was the chief guest of Vizag Festival’s Short Film Festival. ‘Ankuram’ fame director C Uma Maheshwara Rao opined that youth should attempt to portray social issues through short films. He also cautioned youth not to get carried away by the commercial films.

At Gurazada Literary Platform, critc Medipalli Ravi Kumar, Chandu Subba Rao and others discussed about globalisation and culture. Kalam Science Exhibition witnessed a huge attendance of students. Magicshows by Jana Vignan Vedika on superstitions attracted the visitors. Apart from book stalls, the outlets of Steel Plant, GVMC, Port, LIC and others have caught the attention of public.

Students of Nirmala Music and Dance Academy, Gajuwaka, staged classical dance. The shows of Praja Natya Mandali and Laugh Club by David Raju enthralled the audience. Nearly, 50,000 visited the Vizag Fest stalls on Sunday.
