Eluru: Minister for Endowments Pydikondala Manikyala Rao said that Trauma Care Centre, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) would be established at Tadepalligudem Government Area Hospital soon.

He unveiled the statue of Dhanvatari at Tadepaligudem hospital on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, the Endowments Minister said that most of the accidents are taking place near Tadepalligudem on the National Highway.

As there is no Trauma Care Centre in Tadepalligudem Hospital, the injured persons either to be shifted to other hospitals or succumbing to injuries. In view of this, it is decided to set up the Trauma Care Centre and ICU in the hospital to save lives. Steps would be initiated in this regard, he added. Already, he had discussed the matter with Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and the Minister agreed to set up the centre here.

The Minister said that a laparoscopic surgery wing would be established at Tadepalligudem area hospital and soon it will be opened here. The surgeons would also be appointed in this unit. He stated that it is commendable to unveil the statue of Dhanwantari in the area hospital.

K Sankara Rao, District Coordinator of Health Services (DCHS), said that modern equipment was established at Tadepalligudem hospital and the dialysis centre in the hospital extending treatment to 1,000 patients per month here with 10 machines.

Another five dialysis machines would also be set up here soon. He said that Rs 15 lakhs have been sanctioned to set up the laparoscopic surgery machinery. Soon the hospital would be upgraded to the district-level, he added.

Later, the Minister inaugurated the blood bank freezer donated by Budala Nani. Minister felicitated Padham Kumar Gupta, the donor of Dhanwantari statue and Buddala Nani. Hospital Development Committee chairman Gattim Manikyala Rao presided over the meeting.
