Srikakulam: AP State Civil Supplies Corporation (APSCSC) hasentered into fuel business and sell petrol and diesel through bunks. Earlier, the corporation had entered into an agreement with fuel companies in this regard. The corporation is aimed to start fuel trading to earn profitsfor its survival and to protect interests of employees.

In Srikakulam city, APSCSC will open afuel bunk at 80 Feet Road. “Ninety percent of bunk works were completed and we will inaugurate it after December 19,” told APSCSC District Manager (DM) R Venkateswara Rao toThe Hans India.

Another three fuel bunks are proposed to be set up acrossthe district soon and the officials of APSCSC are searching for suitablesites with the assistance of revenue officials, he said and addedtwo bunks have been proposed at Palasa and Narasannapeta towns and adjacent to National Highway 16 expecting gooddemand from vehicle owners and riders. Another fuel bunk was proposedat Regidimandal centre on state highway (SH) which leads toPalakonda town from Rajam town, the DM said.

“We need minimum 40 cents of land to maintain a fuel bunk and searching for suitable places at the above three areas,” he explained. The APSCSC would get Rs 2.20 paisa on diesel for each litre andRs 3.20 paisa on one litre petrol as commission. In eachbunk 12,000 litres of petrol and another 12,000 litres of diesel areavailable regularly. He said these bunks wouldbe opened round-the-clock for customers, Venkateswara Rao said.
