When contacted Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) A Hemanth said a few days ago, Joint Collector G Srijana and GVMC Commissioner M Harinarayan convened a meeting with the managements of fuel stations asking them to open toilets for public usage as part of Swachh Bharat Mission.

“There will not be any fine levied on petrol bunk managements for not allowing public to use toilets. But, for a bigger cause of maintaining ODF, we have asked them to cooperate voluntarily,” the CMHO clarified.

However, it is learnt that the fuel station managements have not raised the issues concerned in the meeting due to several reasons and are reluctant to execute the scheme even though it is voluntary.
