Amaravati: BC Commission’s chairman K L Manjunatha did not submit the report on Monday, as expected by the officials. There was speculation that Justice Manjunatha wold submit his report on Kapu reservations on Monday, but the officials at the Secretariat confirmed that they had not received any such information.

It is to be noted that he was the only member of the commission who has not yet submitted the report to the government so far, even after Assembly passed a bill on Kapu reservation and sent it to the Union government. The government passed the Kapu Reservation bill based on the expert report submitted by other members in the same commission.

A senior official at the Chief Minister’s Office explained that as the issue became sensitive, the report would be directly received by the Chief Minister or by Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar on the directions of CM. But, on Monday, both of them were not in Amaravati. The Chief Minister was in South Korea for three-day visit while Dinesh Kumar was in New Delhi.
