Pawan to take the side of youth

Hyderabad: ‘Agnata Vyakti’ Pawan Kalyan has decided against being one in public life. He will get cracking from Wednesday in taking up issues pertaining to youth and students. He may not be playing a cameo role in public life anymore as he is free now, his last schedule of his film ‘Agnata Vyakti’ having been completed.

Apparently moved by the plight of the students due to raging unemployment problem and the death of 21 innocent people in a boat mishap in Krishna river near Vijayawada recently, the Jana Sena Party chief has decided to be in the midst of people in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

To begin with, he would kick off his mass contact programme – ‘Chalore Chalore Chal’ - by visiting Visakhapatnam on Wednesday morning where he would comfort the kin of Venkatesh, an employee of the Dredging Corporation of India who committed suicide following the Centre’s move to privatise the PSU. After addressing a public meeting in the evening, Pawan will head for Rajahmundry on December 7.

He will take part in party workers meeting and then would proceed to Polavaram to study how the project is coming up there. On December 8, he would interact with students of Fatima Medical College, contract lecturers and power utilities employees. On December 9, he will visit Ongole where he would comfort the family members of those who died in a boat accident near Vijayawada.

Pawan Kalyan has already spoken to Raju, brother of post graduate student Murali, who ended his life in Maneru hostel in Osmania University. “I could not visit his family as police have imposed restrictions on visitors. Once the heat settles down, I would visit them,” he said. In a statement on Tuesday, he said that the other issues that had tormented him were Dredging Corporation of India employee Venkaesh ending his life and the death of 21 people in boat accident in Krishna river near Vijayawada.

“At that time I was in London and in an interaction with students, one of them asked him whether he too was responsible for their deaths since he had supported the BJP and the TDP. In retrospect, the student had a point. It was BJP which had taken the decision to privatise Dredging Corporation and the TDP wise negligence led to the boat mishap near Vijayawada,” Pawan Kalyan said.

In the two Telugu states, he said, students and youth were very restive since the rulers had conveniently forgotten the promise they had made to them while seeking their support in fighting the 2014 elections. “The wealth of any nation is only its youth since its future depends on them,” he said quoting poet Gunturu Seshendra Sarma and that it was essential that their interests should be taken care of.

Pawan Kalyan said his ‘Chalore Chalore Chal’ would be in three phases. “In the first phase, I would study the problem, in the second phase we examine why the problem remained without solution and in the third phase, we will take agitation path to force the government to end the issues that are tormenting the people, particularly the youth,” he said.
