Visakhapatnam: GITAM School of International Business will organise international conference on ‘India and the ASEAN @ 25’ on February 10 at GITAM, Visakhapatnam under the aegis of EXIM Bank of India, Mumbai, on the eve of 25 Years of India and the ASEAN relations.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a regional intergovernmental organisation comprising 10 Southeast Asian states which promotes intergovernmental cooperation and facilitates economic, political, security, military, educational and socio-cultural integration amongst its members and Asian states.

Its principal aim of ASEAN includes accelerating economic growth, social progress and socio-cultural evolution among its members, alongside the protection of regional stability and the provision of a mechanism for member countries to resolve differences peacefully.

GSIB Joint Director KK Narayanan on Wednesday said the conference would be attended by dignitaries and ambassadors from the ASEAN countries, captains of the industry, government officials and academicians to discuss the need for future integration of India and the ASEAN countries for achieving the common developmental goals.
