Srikakulam: Red Cross Society Japan team membersNodokaSukeneri and Konica Lumba, Red Cross AP state general secretary SBalasubramanyam visited Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) services in Srikakulam on Thursday.

They interacted with the district collector and IRCS president KDhanunjaya Reddy. Later they visited IRCS blood bank, eye bank, AnuragaNilayam, women empowerment and social emergency response volunteers (SERV) activities in the district. SERV project is sanctioned only for two states in the country one is AP and other is Odisha.

The SERV is meant to provide training for one percent of total population in the district.“We have identified 27,000 youth across the district and all types of training being provided to them to face any situation in emergency,”the collectorelaborated to team. IRCS district chairman PJaganmohan Rao and convener, BalivadaMalleswara Rao accompanied the team.
