Lok Adalat resolves 178 cases

Pithapuram: The 12th Additional District Judge Lakshminarasimha Reddy on Saturday called upon the litigants to resolve disputes outside the courts. Participating as chief guest along with senior civil judge Ammanna Raja and junior civil judge K Haribabu in the legal awareness programme held on the court premises, he said the Lok Adalat sessions provide good opportunity for litigants to resolve cases besides saving their valuable time and wastage of money.
Settling the cases in the presence of an arbitrator is advisable, he said adding the court fee paid would be refunded. The Lok Adalat resolves the cases only if it is agreeable to both the parties, he pointed out. Bar Association president and secretary Piratla Bhanumurthy and AKV Reddy,
treasurer PVSR Murthy, assistant government pleader SM Ali, senior advocates Padala Ravi, Bh Raju, S Nageswara Rao, P Satyanarayana, K Vijaya Kumar and others took part in the programme. The Lok Adalat session disposed 178 cases. The break-up of the cases is as follows: motor vehicles-9, civil cases -18, criminal cases 25, excise cases -89, BSNL cases -28 and bank cases – 9.
