Ongole: Accountability, transparency and social responsibility are much required qualities in politicians, said Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan. Speaking at the meeting of Jana Sena cadre from Prakasam and Nellore districts in Ongole on Saturday, Pawan Kalyan said that the lack of accountability for the poll promises is the reason for Union government denying Special Category Status.

States that denial of Special Category Status to AP by the Union govt is nothing but lack of accountabilityed youth to work for a better society for future generations. Pawan pointed out that he had denied a proposal from the BJP national president Amit Shah to join his party. Instead, he preferred to run a regional party.

Pawan Kalyan said, “I wanted to be one of the 100 persons that Swami Vivekandanda asked to change the world. The youth I see now are raw force and we need to mould the energy into positive with thought process and discipline. For the future generations, I have become a political coolie at the stake of my respect. Jana Sena stands for accountability and takes up responsibility of what it promises.”

The Jana Sena chief said that he was exercising restraint and warned the TDP and BJP to never dare to test the patience of youth.

He said, “The lack of political accountability is the reason for the bifurcation of the State. When the politics lacks accountability, the public comes onto roads and take part agitations causing law and order issues. In our State, we should achieve harmony between the castes to ensure a friendly society. “

Pawan reiterated that he was ready to fight for Special Category Status for Andhra Pradesh. “As a person with high moral strength quotient, I am ready to fight for the special category status but are the government, parties, people ready for sacrifices to get it,” he questioned.

The BJP and TDP leaders in the State cannot shirk the responsibility of fighting for SCS, he said. TDP should stop keeping the public in dark about SCS. Those people who do not have the moral strength, cannot go and demand for the SCS, he said.

Pawan Kalyan requested the ruling and opposition parties in the State to pass a resolution asking the Centre to announce its decision on the Special Category Status. They should ask the reasons in case the status was denied to the State, he said.
