Proposal to set up Gandhi Memorial Centre in Vizianagaram
Andhra Pradesh Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi president and former MP of Vijayawada Chennupati Vidya said that there is a proposal to set up Gandhi Memorial Centre in the district.
Vizianagaram: Andhra Pradesh Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi president and former MP of Vijayawada Chennupati Vidya said that there is a proposal to set up Gandhi Memorial Centre in the district.
It may be recalled Andhra Pradesh Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi was established to propagate the ideology and policies of Mahatma Gandhi. Smaraka Nidhi conducted a programme here on Saturday in which former IPS officer and adviser to government KPS Gandhi, Superintendent of Police P Palaraju, D Pari Naidu, R Pothanna and others took part.
KPS Gandhi stated that the philosophy and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi is relevant till date. GenNext should adopt his policies by reading the books which were written on his life history. He recalled that South Africa followed his ideology and achieved freedom.
Though the Gandhi had fought against the British, the UK government had installed the statue of Gandhi in its Parliament. Chennupati Vidya said: “We should transform the villages into Gandhigrams and should not allow liquor in those areas.”
District Superintendent of Police P Pala Raju stated that every district should have a Gandhi Memorial Hall cum Museum to inspire the present generation. Finally, the meeting decided to organise the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the Gandhi on a grand manner in 2018.
