Sonia Gandhi’s birthday celebrated
The local Congress leaders have celebrated the 71st birthday of Sonia Gandhi at party office here on Saturday. Speaking the occasion, District Congress Committee (DCC) president SK Nazir Ahmed said that it is high time for party cadre to strive hard for bringing the Congress to power in 2019 as the people have lost confidence on BJP-lead NDA government at Centre.
Kadapa: The local Congress leaders have celebrated the 71st birthday of Sonia Gandhi at party office here on Saturday. Speaking the occasion, District Congress Committee (DCC) president SK Nazir Ahmed said that it is high time for party cadre to strive hard for bringing the Congress to power in 2019 as the people have lost confidence on BJP-lead NDA government at Centre.
The DCC chief recalled that despite Sonia Gandhi has got an opportunity to become Prime Minister in 2004 and 2009, she ignored it and made Dr Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister. He said that the NDA government has failed in addressing several issues such as providing employment to the unemployed youth, reducing the prices of essential commodities etc promised during the 2014 elections.
Due to demonetisation, he said poor and middle class in the country are facing severe financial hurdles. Christian Minorities chairman M Vijaya Bhaskar, Muslim minorities chairman Chan Ali, and Seva Dalchairman C Charles were present.
