The YSR Congress Party has decided to raise the issue of denial of special category status to Andhra Pradesh during the winter session of Parliament.

With the Winter Session of Parliament is starting from December 15th, the Parliamentary Committee Meeting was held to decide the future course of action. Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is touring Kuderu as part of Praja Sankalpa Yatra in Anantapur District, presided the meeting. The YSRCP MPs said that the special status is the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh.

"If Centre is ready to accord Special Status if we resign, all the YSRCP MPs will submit resignation in Speaker's format. If we resign without any assurance, There won't be anyone in Parliament to safeguard the interests of AP. Does Chandrababu have the guts to make 4 MPs and 23 MLAs who joined TDP resign and contest by-poll? Assembly and Lok Sabha Speakers need to prove their impartial approach by disqualifying defectors. Centre must take the responsibility of completing Polavaram Project. This situation wouldn't have arised had if Chandrababu didn't interfere," the YSRCP MPs.
