The State government has decided to invite innovative ideas from global best thinkers on economic development in six theme cities in Amaravati, sustainable development and governance.

Amaravati: The State government has decided to invite innovative ideas from global best thinkers on economic development in six theme cities in Amaravati, sustainable development and governance.

The government is leaving no stone unturned to provide cutting-edge infrastructure, comfortable livelihood and immense prosperity for the people of Amaravati as the capital city is being envisioned as world-class city.

As part of this effort, AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC) are jointly going to conduct Amaravati Deep Dive Workshop on December 14 and 15i n Vijayawada. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate the workshop.

The workshop will discuss on making Amaravati a global city, the Happy City Vision, plan and action, government complex plan, infrastructure such as water, sewerage and storm water infrastructure, transport and mobility and power and renewable energy.

Besides, discussions would be held on Amaravati as a global health and wellness destination, media city as a destination for global talent, the knowledge economy, sustainability in buildings and infrastructure and happy city – the leisure destination.

“The main objective of global workshop is to take views of national and international experts on various fields like power, renewables, tourism, sports, health, transport mobility, small cities and sustainability which will help for the construction of the world class capital city Amaravati,” said APCRDA media advisor A Chandra Sekhar Reddy.

The State government has focussed on economic development and health, tourism, sports, knowledge, media, and administrative cities. The government also decided to create quality living, smart and sustainable Infrastructure and governance.

A regional growth strategy is being prepared for accommodating 13.8 million people in the capital region by the year 2050. Some of the focus areas are creating an attractive destination to live, work, play and create a place for all ages, catering to housing for all income groups with a target of minimum 50% affordable housing to cater to low and medium Income groups and revitalize and redevelop existing settlements for inclusive growth.

The government is also planning extensive green corridors along the waterways and create a seamless network of parks and greens at neighbourhood, establish waste management and disposal systems, efficient management of power and energy and encourage use of renewable energy.

Employ innovative and resource efficient infrastructure, create modern planned residential townships in the capital city, implement water sensitive urban design, develop an economic and sustainable solid waste management system and give incentives for green building construction practices are also other strategies.
