Provide work at Vamshadhara rehabilitation colonies: Collector

Srikakulam: District Collector Kalva Dhanunjaya Reddy directed District Water Resources Management Agency (DWMA) project director (PD) Hanumanthu Kurma Rao to take steps and provide employment generation works in Vamsadhara rehabilitation colonies.

Presiding over a review meeting with officials over the progress of works in the displaced colonies, the Collector directed the PD to provide works on a fast pace under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) to the people who settled in newly formed 12 colonies in LN Peta mandal.

The District Collector said providing jobs and payment of wages were essential for displaced people. Speaking on the occasion, the District Collector urged district panchayat officer (DPO) B Koteshwara Rao to de-notify the displaced villages in Hiramandal mandalam under the project.
