Hindupur (Anantapur): The state government has released Rs 66 crore to the Hindupur municipality for giving a face lift to the town, according to MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna in a press release.

The funds are allocated for laying of new concrete roads, development of parks and boosting street lighting in all the municipal wards. Municipal Chairman Lakshmi Nagaraju has hailed the efforts put in by the MLA Balakrishna for getting the funds sanctioned to give a new face lift to the town.

He said that all the main fares of the town and the streets in all the divisions will have cement roads. All the open spaces will be developed as parks to enable development of greenery and provide lung space to the citizens of the town to enjoy an evening sit-in, he added.

Besides, MLA Balakrishna has also funds for the civic body for executing a water scheme costing Rs 194 crore. All the streets will have LED lamps as part of the face lift planned for the town. Balakrishna in his press release added that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has given the town a bonanza as part of his commitment to develop the constituency of late N Taraka Rama Rao.
