The state unit of Jamat-e- Islami Hind has been conducting an awareness programme on Islam titled ‘Come to know about Islam for peace’.Addressing a media conference here on Thursday, the Jamat-e- Islami Hind State campaign steering committee member Sheikh Mohammad Sheriff said that there were misinterpretations about Islam across the globe. 

Bhimavaram: The state unit of Jamat-e- Islami Hind has been conducting an awareness programme on Islam titled ‘Come to know about Islam for peace’.Addressing a media conference here on Thursday, the Jamat-e- Islami Hind State campaign steering committee member Sheikh Mohammad Sheriff said that there were misinterpretations about Islam across the globe.

Quoting BBC, they said that about 1.22 crore Muslims were globally killed during last 15 years due to the atrocities of superpower countries. They alleged that the imperial forces were utilising every given opportunity to degrade Islam. However, the educated and elite are coming forward to know about Islam.

They said that the Jamat-e- Islami Hind Andhra Pradesh unit had decided to take up an awareness campaign to clarify doubts and misinterpretations about religion among people. The awareness campaign was started on December 8 and would conclude on December 17. As part of this campaign, public meetings would be conducted and they were distributing booklets and pamphlets to the public.

The Hindu Muslim Ekta Manch National President, Swamy Lakshmi Sankaracharya, Bharatiya Sarva Dharma Samsad National President Guruji Goswamy Susheel Maharaj and others have been addressing the public meetings conducted by Jamat-e- Islami Hind. Jamat-e- Islami Hind town unit President Sheikh Intiyaz, MM Pasha Askari, Jani, Abdul Raheem and others participated in the media conference.
