During the past three years, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) spent about Rs 3.5 crore towards development of Odalarevu through its CSR funds. Many development works have been undertaken which have been appreciated by local people.  ONGC Eastern Offshore Asset, Kakinada, has its major gas terminal at Odalarevu in Amalapuram mandal. 

Kakinada: During the past three years, the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) spent about Rs 3.5 crore towards development of Odalarevu through its CSR funds. Many development works have been undertaken which have been appreciated by local people.

ONGC in close association with public, panchayat and govt has been working for sustenance of the local people here. In all, 900 persons received employment benefit through contractors working on ONGC projects at Odalarevu.

ONGC is actively considering grant of Rs 2.58 crore for providing drinking water to the individual houses in Odalarevu village through state government RWS scheme. Earlier, ONGC has helped villagers with tanker supply of water spending over Rs 11 lakh.

Providing electric connections though are not covered under ONGC CSR schemes, however, ONGC provided 310 solar street lights to Odalarevu village spending about Rs 65 lakh which includes maintenance for five years.

ONGC has been extending help to villagers for training and schooling needs. ZPP High School, Odalarevu, has regularly been given CSR grant. Over 51 students received merit scholarships, 77 bicycles were given to students. Sewing machines were distributed to girls.
