Vijayawada: Members of the Municipal Employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) took out a rally and staged a demonstration here on Monday. They demanded that the government should pay salaries to them directly from its treasury.
The government had given assurance in this regard long ago but it has failed to implement it. They opposed the implementation of GO 279 by terming it would be burden to citizens. They demanded that government should pay Rs 18,000 as minimum monthly salary to contract employees. Municipal Employees JAC leaders P David, P Surya Rao and several leaders were also present.
