The NCC cadets took part in the trekking with lot of interest, discipline and motivation. The trekking was held in the surrounding places of Tirupati for six days from December 12. 

Tirupati: The NCC cadets took part in the trekking with lot of interest, discipline and motivation. The trekking was held in the surrounding places of Tirupati for six days from December 12.

The cadets had to walk distances from 10 to 13 kms every day, covering some important historical and education oriented sites like Tirumala, Goshala, Agricultural Research Centre, Sri Venkateswara Zoo, Science Centre and Tirumala Museum.

A total of 485 NCC cadets and 15 associated NCC officers from six States – Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa and Andhra Pradesh, participated in the expedition. The aim was to visit new areas and to make NCC cadets aware of vastness and diversity of our country and to promote National integration by making cadets live together and accustom them with food habits of different regions and States.

On Sunday, which was the concluding day, each team was given an opportunity to prepare and present cultural programme of their region. Group Commander, NCC Group – Tirupati, Col KV Vithal, Lt Col NN Krishnan, Col Ashok K Kumar, Lt Col, J Peter Celestine and others participated in the trek.
