One person brutally murdered in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Ajit Singh Nagar police successfully unravelled the murder mystery within 24 hours and nabbed the three accused who brutally killed one person Chanda Venkateswara Raju behind the Raghavendra theatre in Ayodhya Nagar on Sunday.

According to DCP Kanti Rana, the three accused Kanna Sasikumar, Shaik Baji and a juvenile, all residents of Budameru katta area, allegedly murdered one Venkateswa Raju (55), who went to attend nature's call near Budamerukatta on Sunday. Dispute broke out when three youth made some comments on the victim.

The accused youth who were in an inebriated state entered into a verbal spat. Later, they mercilessly attacked him with a sharp weapon as well along with a boulder killing him on the spot. The incident occurred on Sunday night. They also attacked another person at the same time when he tried to protect Venkateswara Raju. But, he luckily escaped.

Basing on the CCTV footage and other evidence that they collected from the spot where the murder took place, the police nabbed the trio within 24 hours. Speaking to the media here on Monday, DCP Rana said the victim was a petty trader and runs a noodles shop in Srinagar Colony.

ACP (North) Sravani, Satyanarayanapuram Circle-Inspector of Police Satyanarayana and other officials inspected the murder site. Clues team and dog squad was also pressed into service to nab the culprits.
