Speed up paddy purchasing

Srikakulam: Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy has directed civil supplies officials and millers to speed up paddy purchasing during kharif season. At a review meeting with officials here on Monday, the collector expressed dissatisfaction over negligence of officials in purchasing of paddy from the farmers.

He directed civil supplies district manager R Venkateswara Rao, DRDA PD Dr GC Kishore Kumar and RDOs to speed up the process. The collector said out of total 313 millers in the district, 255 millers submitted bank guarantees regarding paddy procurement and remaining millers must submit it within two days.
