Post-graduate student ends her life at hostel room
Students in Telugu states continue to end their lives for obvious reasons. In a latest incident, a student in Sri Krishnadevaraya University here in Anantapur town ended her life by hanging herself to a ceiling fan at her hostel room on Monday afternoon. Anantapur: Students in Telugu states continue to end their lives for obvious reasons. In a latest incident, a student in Sri Krishnadevaraya University here in Anantapur town ended her life by hanging herself to a ceiling fan at her hostel room on Monday afternoon. The victim, who was identified as Lakshmi Prasanna, was a native of Gorantla mandal in the district. She was studying post-graduation (Msc Zoology) in the college.
Around 11 am, Prasanna returned from her college to her hostel room in Godavari block. According to her batchmates, Prasanna, who looked visibly upset, went straight into her room and bolted the door from inside, then hanged to the fan.
The students in the hostel alerted the college staff and the university management over the incident. The police registered a case under mysterious death and shifted the body for postmortem. The police are securing details as to why Prasanna had to take the extreme step. Her parents — Jayamma and Nagaraju were informed about the death and further details of the case are still awaited.
