Vijayawada: Renowned beautician Blossom Kocchar, Delhi, said on Tuesday demand for the herbal cosmetics and aroma products is gradually increasing in the country in recent years due to growing awareness on health and fitness among the women.

She said beauty parlours are coming up in the small towns of Andhra Pradesh and thousands of women are getting livelihood by running the parlours. She conducted an awareness programme for more than 400 beauticians, who came from different parts of the state in a hotel on Tuesday.

Mukesh Beauty World, Vijayawada, organised a day-long event to create awareness on the beautician course and procedures to be followed in the profession. Speaking on the occasion, Kocchar said aroma therapy is very useful to cure physical and mental problems as the oil used for therapy is very useful to the body and mind.

She felt at least six-month basic training is required to run a beauty parlour. She said women are visiting the beauty parlours for facial, eye brows and hairstyles and added that Indian cosmetic market is increasing by 20 per cent every year due to growing demand.
