Free gifts worth 25 L for customers
District Collector Pravin Kumar called upon the vendors to participate in Visakha Utsav by setting up stalls and giving special discounts for the customers in order to make the event successful.
Visakhapatnam: District Collector Pravin Kumar called upon the vendors to participate in Visakha Utsav by setting up stalls and giving special discounts for the customers in order to make the event successful.
Visakha Utsav is scheduled for three days from December 28 – 30 in the city. The administration took up this annual event as prestigious by hosting it at a cost of Rs 5 crore.
At a meeting held at the Collectorate here on Tuesday, the Collector interacted with owners of jewellery, garments and automobile outlets. Asking them to support the event and make it a big success, he told the vendors to conduct draws each day during the three-day event and award the gifts worth Rs 25 lakh to the customers.
The vendors could choose to give gifts individually or as a group. After arriving at consensus over this matter, the vendors are supposed to inform the District Collector about their decision.
The gifts that are to be distributed was categorised into three – Motor Bike, Necklace and Honda Activa. On the final day, a car should be given through a lucky draw. Commercial Taxes Deputy Commissioner Nagendra Kumar, District Tourism Officer Purnima Devi and others attended.
