People urged to utilise services of Aadhaar enrolment centres
Nandyal Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) Ramsundar Reddy said that the Andhra Pragathi Grameena Bank (APGB) was extending qualitative services to the account holders in the rural areas. Besides, providing efficient banking services, the APGB was also organising several welfare programmes, he added.

Participating in the inaugural ceremony of Aadhaar enrolment centre at the Bank’s main branch in Nandyal town on Tuesday, the RDO said that the bank was creating an opportunity to the people to get new Aadhaar cards besides making correction in them. He made an appeal to all the people to utilise the services of the Aadhaar centres that were set up by the APGB.
APGB Regional Manager Shiva Shankar Reddy said Aadhaar card is essential to everybody as every activity was being linked to the Aadhaar number. To open a new bank account, one should have an Aadhaar card, else, his account would not be opened.
Furthermore, he said the Aadhaar enrolment centres have been set up at eight places like Allagadda, Koilkuntla, Banaganapalle, Nandyal, Velugodu, Giddalur, Markapuram and Yerragondapalem that falls under Nandyal region. As per the norms of the government, every card holder has to link up his bank account with the Aadhaar card. Around 50 Aadhaar enrolment centres have been started in five districts.
He also urged the people to utilise the services and reap the benefits. He said that 7.1 per cent was being given on Pragathi Dhana Lakshmi deposits. Chief Manager Jaya Kumar, Manager Sai Prasad, Senior Manager Ravi Mohan and other bank staff were also present.
