The long pending Godavari Festival is likely coming to reality soon in the city, for which the residents of the historical city are waiting for some years.
Rajamahendravaram: The long pending Godavari Festival is likely coming to reality soon in the city, for which the residents of the historical city are waiting for some years.
The festival was celebrated five years ago. There were no festivities later. As the demand for Godavari Festival is increasing from all quarters of people, Rajamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) is now concentrating on it. The move to organise Godavari Festival was made three months ago, but it was postponed as Tourism Department conducted its festival for three days in the city.
According to Municipal Corporation sources, Godavari festival is aimed to reflect the culture and traditions of East Godavari district. After completion of 3-day Beach Festival in Kakinada which began on Tuesday, the district administration will concentrate on Godavari festival, it is felt. Earlier, tribal festival and Konaseema festivals were held in the district.
