In order to create awareness on toilets usage and maintenance, women empowerment, Swachh village, child care and health issues, the students of Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) are moving into the villages as a part of their NSS programme.

Visakhapatnam: In order to create awareness on toilets usage and maintenance, women empowerment, Swachh village, child care and health issues, the students of Vignan’s Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) are moving into the villages as a part of their NSS programme.

As a part of their six days NSS camp, the students of VIIT are taken up several programmes at Chintagatla and Jerripothulapalem villages. The camp was started on December 18 and conclude on 23.

Speaking at the programme in Chintagatla village on Tuesday, NSS programme officer Dr Sujatha explained that the main objective of this camp is to create awareness among the village people on different aspects. As many as 60 NSS volunteers from the institute are participating in the programme.

The volunteers are going door-to-door and educating the women and children in the villages. As a part of the camp, a medical camp also organised in the village and medical examinations were conducted free of cost. Principal of VIIT Dr Ch Narasimham appealed the students to make use of the opportunity to serve the country.
