Visakhapatnam: The Chief Executive Officer of Saigram Ayurveda Hospitals and Research Institute, Coimbatore, A Rajendra Prasad, said that the medicines in Ayurveda would not be given as per disease but would be given assessing the patient’s condition. While having good knowledge and awareness right from schooling level, one could avoid allopathic medicines in life, he added.

Sri Prakash Educational Institutions have been starting an Ayurveda Hospital in the district. As a part of the inaugural programme, an awareness programme on ayurveda medicine was organised on Wednesday. Experts from various Ayurveda Hospitals from Tamil Nadu and Kerala were present in the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajendra Prasad said that ayurveda medicine has been drafted by assessing food habits. However, in the present fast-food culture right from the infants to 60 plus people have been facing several new diseases.

Though there are generic medicines available in markets, very less people are using depending on costly medicines believing that allopathic medicines would cure diseases. But ayurveda medicine would solve all the health issues, he added. People are not eating lunch in enough quantities and taking dinner heavily, which is one of the reasons for causing ill-health, Rajendra Prasad pointed out.

Academic and Clinical Projects, Arya Vaidya Pharmacy U Indulal, Senior Medical Officer Ayurveda Hospitals and Research Centre CV Navneeth and R Shawbu also spoke. Institute correspondent ChVK Narasimha Rao presided over the programme.
