Chandrababu Naidu to set stone for 125ft Ambedkar’s statue

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh SC Cooperative Finance Corporation Chairman Jupudi Prabhakar has said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will lay foundation stone for construction of Dr BR Ambedkar’s 125 feet statue in Amaravati as proposed by the State government.

Speaking to media at the Secretariat on Thursday, Jupudi Prabhakar said that the corporation has also decided to celebrate the birthday of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on April 20 by gathering more than 2 lakh SC population.

Prabhakar said the corporation will organise state-wide awareness campaigns on government welfare schemes and development programmes to create awareness among Scheduled Castes. The Palle Palleku Netalu programme will be start on January 27 and will end on April 20, he added.

The Corporation will organise SC Parliament on the lines of Women’s World Parliament organised by the State government, he said and added for this event, the Corporation will invite SCs from across the globe.

He observed that there are 20 lakh SC families across the state and the leaders will be mandated to meet all these families. During the campaigns, the leaders will screen short films on welfare schemes of State government at the villages, Prabhakar explained.
