There was an appreciable fall in the night temperatures ranging from 2.1 to 4 degrees Celsius at one or two places in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday. 

Hyderabad: There was an appreciable fall in the night temperatures ranging from 2.1 to 4 degrees Celsius at one or two places in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Wednesday.

They were appreciably below normal by 3.1 to 5 degrees Celsius at one or two places in the coastal districts and below normal ranging from 1.6 to 3 degrees Celsius at one or two places in Rayalaseema, the Met department bulletin said on Wednesday.

The lowest minimum temperature of 14 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kalingapatnam and Jangamaheswarapuram. The other temperatures recorded in the State were: Nandigama, Arogyavaram, Nandyal 15 each, Bapatla, Visakhapatnam Airport & Anantapur 16 each, Kadapa, Kurnool, Tuni, Narsapur 17 each, Vijayawada 18, Kakinada, Kavali, Machilipatnam, Tirupati 19 each, Ongole, Visakhapatnam 20 each and Nellore 21.

According to the bulletin, a low pressure area is likely to develop over the south Andaman sea and its adjoining south-east Bay of Bengal around December 25. Dry weather prevailed in both the coastal and Rayalaseema districts.
