Speed up preparation of budget proposals: Chief Secretary
Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar directed the Principal Secretaries and other Heads of the Departments to give highest priority in preparing budget proposals for the coming financial year, during a review meeting with the officials here on Wednesday.
Amaravati: Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar directed the Principal Secretaries and other Heads of the Departments to give highest priority in preparing budget proposals for the coming financial year, during a review meeting with the officials here on Wednesday.
He explained to officials on how to upload budget proposals on the Budget portal dedicated for the purpose. There is every possibility to introduce new welfare schemes in the coming Budget by the government, Dinesh Kumar told the officials. He suggested to ensure inclusiveness of all the areas in every district in implementation of the government welfare schemes.
Special Secretary for Finance department Ravi Chandra said that in a view to create awareness on the budget proposals of different departments, they allowed Heads of the Departments in the meeting along with the senior officials. Preparation of the budget proposals would be a collective responsibility of all the officials, he added.
He pointed out that the some of the officials have been showing all the expenditure in a single head, which is not a correct practice. He directed them to show the expenditure of the departments on various relevant accounts.
In this conference, the Chief Secretary explained to the officials on how to login into the portal, how to change the password, issues related to budget proposals on the portal and utilising the technology in preparing the budget.
