All Assembly segments to get industrial units
All the 10 Assembly constituencies in the district would get industrial units soon as the state government is planning to promote industries at the Assembly segment-level to curb migrations and provide employment to the skilled youth.Â
Srikakulam: All the 10 Assembly constituencies in the district would get industrial units soon as the state government is planning to promote industries at the Assembly segment-level to curb migrations and provide employment to the skilled youth.
On the directive of the state government, District Industries Centre (DIC) officials initiated steps to create awareness among people on establishment of medium, small and minor enterprises (MSME). At present, 24 heavy and 3,200 medium and minor industries are in existence. In all, 24 heavy units, 20,000 employees are working and in 3,200 medium and minor units are being provided employment to 32,000.
District officials have already identified lands in six Assembly segments so far across the district. Industries will be set up at Byripuram village in Kanchili mandal in Itchapuram Assembly segment, Jammu village in Narasannapeta segment, Sancham village in Ranasthalam mandal in Etcherla segment, VR Gudem village in Ponduru mandal in Amudalavalasa segment, Meliaputti mandal in Pathapatnam segment and Turayapuvalasa village in Sitampeta mandal in Palakonda segment.
These lands would be allotted to those who wish to start units by following procedures. The DIC officials initiated awareness camps on the establishment of industrial units in various Assembly segments till December 30.
Speaking to The Hans India here, DIC General Manager (GM, B.Gopalakrishna said, ‘‘Quick disposal of applications for industries is the main objective of the state government and we have to provide aid to the applicants in this regard.”
