Vijayawada: Minister for Endowments G Manikyala Rao asked the officials to prepare action plan to introduce slot system in the model of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to provide darshan for devotees at Durga temple.

Addressing the first anniversary of Sri Kanaka Durga Dharma Prachara Parishad at Siddhartha Auditorium at Mogalrajapuram here on Friday, he told the officials of the temple that they should keep an account of the donations being given by devotees to the temple.

He also asked the officials of his department to create awareness among people right from the village-level on Hindu dharma. He suggested to them to promote human values through a publicity campaign. The Minister suggested to the temple officials to construct a cultural centre to conduct regular programmes at Goshala area on the temple premises.

He also directed the officials to protect the assets of Durga temple. He hailed the decision of officials to organise Laksha Galaarchana at Padmavathi Ghat on January 22. Durga temple executive officer Surya Kumari said the temple was exploring the possibilities to introduce Kalyanotsavam and other rituals in other states following the requests from them.

She said the temple trust board would take a decision in the regard in the next board meeting. Durga Temple Trust Board chairman Yalamanchali Gouranga Babu said the board would extend its cooperation to all the development plans put forth by officials.

Dharma Prachara Parishad director Vendantam Rajagopala Chakravarthy, assistant executive officer Achyutha Ramaiah, Sthanacharyulu V Shivaprasad Sharma, Durga temple chief priest Lingambhatla Durga Prasad and trust members attended the meeting.
