Kadapa: Rajampet MLA Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy met Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu, Union Ministers Chaudhary Birender Singh and Sujana Chowdary in New Delhi on Thursday. He made an appeal to them to take initiative for construction of a steel plant in Kadapa district.

He submitted memorandum to the Ministers and urged them to take steps for establishment of steel factory in the district in the interest of local youth for providing employment. In his memorandum, the MLA stated about 1.25 lakh people will get direct and indirect employment once steel plant was set up in Kadapa district.

Later the MLA also has met Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and submitted a memorandum seeking stoppage of Sampark Kranti Express at Rajampet railway station.
