Solid waste management plants in 700 villages in Krishna dist

Vijayawada: Krishna District Collector B Lakshmi Kantham said the government would start solid waste management plants in all the villages in Krishna district soon. As part of it, initially, the solid waste management plants would be constructed in 700 villages in first phase, he said.

Participating in ‘Swachh Atmagourava Deeksha’ at Gollapudi village in Krishna district here on Friday, he said that cleanliness of surroundings is social responsibility.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced Krishna district as open defecation free district on October 2, he reminded and added that awareness programmes are being conducted in government offices as part of it.

He took part in human chain formed by local panchayat and officials. Gollapudi sarpanch S Venkateshwaramma, Mandal Parishad president Vadlamudi Jaganmohan Rao and several officials were also present in the meeting.

Rs 540 crore loan for tenant farmers….. Krishna District Collector Lakshmi Kantham in a separate meeting with bankers at his office here on Friday, he said the government should release Rs 540 crore crop loans as per target for 80,000 tenant farmers.

The bankers released Rs 240 crore loan so far, he said and asked the officials to complete the targets by January 26. He requested the bankers to solve pending applications by Saturday. The government would present prizes to bankers who achieved targets, he said. Several officials of banks were present in the meeting.
