Sri City, a jewel of AP: Neerab
A two-day conclave organised jointly by AP Factories Inspectorate, National Security Council-AP Chapter and the management of Sri City on the theme ‘Building Safety Culture in Industries\' concluded on Thursday. Special Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad was the chief guest of the concluding session. Appreciating the quick growth of Sri City, Neerab Kumar termed it as a ‘jewel of Andhra Pradesh’.
Tirupati: A two-day conclave organised jointly by AP Factories Inspectorate, National Security Council-AP Chapter and the management of Sri City on the theme ‘Building Safety Culture in Industries' concluded on Thursday. Special Chief Secretary Neerab Kumar Prasad was the chief guest of the concluding session. Appreciating the quick growth of Sri City, Neerab Kumar termed it as a ‘jewel of Andhra Pradesh’.
Addressing the delegates, he emphasised upon the importance of safety requirements in the factory and insisted for adherence to safety norms. Stating that both central and state governments are putting efforts to simplify the procedures, he mentioned that all labour laws are being consolidated into four broad codes for reducing compliance hassles for companies. He appealed to the delegates to visit the websites of his department and give feedback on the information furnished therein.
Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy said conclaves of this kind will promote safety culture, improve process safety and help in achieving zero accident rate. He called upon the Sri City community to inculcate safety as a habit and appealed them to make Sri City an ‘accident-free’ industrial city.
Director of Factories G Balakishore has summarised the proceedings of conclave and thanked the management of Sri City for extending excellent support in organising the event. The two-day conclave was divided into four sessions, and each session was dedicated to specific domains, all-encompassing the theme ‘building safety culture’.
Each session had a panel of four domain specific experts, drawn from the industry with good experience in sustaining the safety culture. About 100 delegates from various industrial units located in Sri City and other parts of Chittoor and Nellore districts were present in the seminar.
